Privacy Policy

1. Who we are and what this covers

This Privacy Policy explains how AlphaTrail ("we", "us") collects, uses, and shares personal information when you use alphatrail.ai and related alert services (the "Service"). It applies to the website, the dashboard, and alerts we deliver by email or Telegram.

2. Information we collect

Account information. When you sign up we collect your email address, an optional display name, and a password. Passwords are stored only as salted cryptographic hashes — we never store or see your password in plain text.

Payment information. Payments are processed by Stripe. We never receive or store your card number; we store only your Stripe customer ID, subscription tier, and billing status. Stripe’s handling of your data is governed by its own privacy policy.

Waitlist information. If you join the waitlist, we collect the email address you submit.

Usage and log data. Like most web services, our infrastructure (Amazon Web Services) records technical logs such as IP address, browser type, request paths, and timestamps. We use these for security, debugging, and operating the Service.

Browser storage. We keep your login session token and minor preferences in your browser’s local storage. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

3. Blockchain data

The wallet addresses and transactions the Service analyzes come from public blockchains. This is publicly available information about on-chain activity; it is not collected from our users and is not linked to your account. If you believe a wallet we display is associated with you and want to discuss it, contact us.

4. How we use your information

• Provide and operate the Service, including authenticating you and delivering the alerts you sign up for.
• Process subscription payments and manage your plan.
• Send service-related emails (account, billing, and security notices).
• Maintain the security of the Service and prevent abuse.
• Comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their advertising purposes.

5. How we share information

We share personal information only with service providers who process it on our behalf, and only as needed to run the Service:

• Amazon Web Services — hosting, databases, and email delivery (Amazon SES), in the United States.
• Stripe — payment processing.
• Telegram — if you choose to receive alerts there, messages are delivered through Telegram’s platform.

We may also disclose information if required by law or legal process, to protect the rights, safety, or property of AlphaTrail or others, or as part of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets (in which case this policy continues to apply to your data until you are notified otherwise).

6. Data retention

• Account information is kept for as long as your account exists.
• Operational whale-event and alert data expires automatically after roughly 30 days; aggregated alert-performance data is kept for up to 180 days.
• Infrastructure logs are retained for approximately 7 days.
• Billing records are retained as required by tax and accounting law.

When you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your personal information within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

7. Security

We protect your information with encryption in transit (TLS/HTTPS), encryption at rest for our databases, salted password hashing, and least-privilege access controls within our infrastructure. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security — please use a strong, unique password.

8. Your rights

You can access and update your name and email from your account, and you can ask us to:

• Provide a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
• Correct inaccurate information.
• Delete your account and personal information.
• Export your information in a portable format.

To exercise any of these rights, email support@alphatrail.ai from the address on your account. We will respond within 30 days and will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.

If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you also have the right to object to or restrict certain processing and to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. The legal bases for our processing are performance of our contract with you, our legitimate interests in operating and securing the Service, and compliance with law. If you are a California resident, the rights above correspond to your rights under the CCPA/CPRA; we do not sell or "share" personal information as defined there.

9. International transfers

We are based in the United States and process and store information on servers located there. By using the Service you understand that your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, which may have different data-protection laws than your jurisdiction.

10. Children

The Service is not directed to anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the updated version here with a new effective date and, for material changes, notify registered users by email.
